English: Cedar Lane was one of the oldest streets in Westmere. Its houses had narrow gardens, stone walls, and fruit trees that leaned over the pavement. At the end of the lane stood an empty house with a broken greenhouse. For years, nobody had lived there except a large colony of honeybees. The bees had built their hive inside the greenhouse roof.
